Wandering writer, photographer, poet, blogger, and social service agency volunteer.

I am now 65, retired from a 35 years of public service in government and higher education.  A widower but also recently remarried.

My greatest enjoyment now comes from our increased opportunities to travel, mostly on America's back-roads and two-lanes.  However, I also am involved with several local social service organizations and writers' groups.

Back when I was in college (1960-1965) I chose governmental research, public management, and policy analysis as areas to work in, later getting graduate degrees, too.  That decision worked out well for me, supporting myself and a family through a rewarding career which lasted until 2003.

Now, though, I am in a position to pursue new and different activities.  I welcome these opportunities.  It is a whole new life for me, which began really when Connie and I married in September 2007.

This blog is a record of that "whole new life," a kind of internet diary of "David 2.0."
