3:45 pm. Okay, what an adventure! Called four plumbers this morning trying to find one who could come out before noon. Failed, but did get one for this afternoon.
He found that the sump pump wasn't working, and replaced it. $$$$? I found that it had blown a fuse as a part of its troubles.
But then, still, the water didn't drain anywhere. Rodding equipment came out, and found lots and lots of little tree roots in the first few feet. Apparently this is the most common problem in the springtime.
He will come back tomorrow morning with a second man to rod some more, fearing the possibility of getting "stuck." Also, after 3:30 the charge is time and a half.
Isn't spring like thawing a pain, depending on how fast the snow melts and how much is where we end up with water coming in. our basement should be dug down and re-waterproofed but unfortunately water always finds a way to seep in no matter where you live in the world, good luck on getting things sorted
Two men came this morning. Now they say they have a "broken rod," from attempting to rod out the drain going back to sewage pipes. This isn't looking very good!
